On the grass she lies. Where they ate cherries, and looked at the stars for countless nights. Where he saw destiny in her eyes. Never will he know what she saw in his. O, the grass on which he took her hand for the first time, where they kissed, laughed and danced under the moon. Underneath the apple tree, when the white blossoms in her hair made her look like a bride, and a goddess, and another apple tree. The sun is setting. As the shadows grow longer and more lively, and the last rays of sunlight colour the top branches of the apple tree a timeless golden hue, the grass by her left side turns red. Life is flowing; the earth eagerly takes it in.
Never more will she shine into his eyes. The sun is dying. Black clouds of ink come up from the depths of her eyes, and cover up that last look of love, for ever. Her hand grows cold in his clasping hands. Her fingers now no longer cling to his. Her lips, once full and red like an august rose, open to release one last sigh, in which he imagines to hear his name. The rose has withered. Yet just before she falls, he brings his lips to hers. Never will he know if she felt it.
The marks of her teeth on his shoulder fade away. O cruel faith, it was only yesterday that they made love. Yesterday only, he looked in her eyes and surrendered to destiny. And today, so soon, it has betrayed him. Freshly plucked cherries stand on the kitchen table. Upstairs, the bed has been made with satin sheets. Tears, in vain watering the fallen rose, are the bitter reminder that he is alive. He feels, and cries, and lives. She...
Ages have past, and still he holds her hand. Her smile has never left his mind. Every august has it's roses, but that doesn’t mend the gardeners broken heart.

so you actually worked on your thesis? it's been two full days since you last posted! :p
anyhow, the picture you posted here misses something. something small and tasty. hope you're home tomorrow ;)
I believe that the correct English word for what we call a "thesis" is actually a "dissertation".
I think both words can be used, see for example their use on a site like this: http://www.learnerassociates.net/dissthes/
Volgens Euroglot-pc-woordenboek: doctoral thesis, thesis, dissertation
As an answer to your question Dragases, I write in English because I want other people to write in English too on my blog and I want to have a 'linguistic consistent' blog. Yes, you may call me neurotic ;-)
Then there is of course the comfort of being anonymous, which is nice if you're posting marxist AND islamist stuff. And yes, you may call me paranoid now :-D
Last but not least, although my English vocabulary isn't bad, my grammar is awful, and this is a perfect way of practising it.
Seeing that at the moment my blog is bilingual (and chances are that it might become polyglottical in time) you can post comments in whatever language you fancy. If, however, you want me to understand, please consider limiting yourself to standard dutch, antwerpian slang, english, french and hindi.
Danku zeer, Many thanks
